ABOUT THE BOOK

The original natives of Australia descended from groups that existed that country for the 400 -500 years ago. At the time of initial European settlement over 250 years ago, over 250 languages were spoken by the Aborigines. It is estimated today 120 languages still exist and remain in use. About 50,000 years ago, a volcanic eruption from Indonesia spread around the world including the southeastern part of India which made habitation very difficult with extensive famine. A lot of people escaped in boats and went to Australia. This was a very tortuous ride where lots of people died. The survivors managed to land in Northern part of Australia. Their Indian heritage was detected by DNA examination in the past 20 years. The Aborigines lived as forages and hunter – gatherers and the society was generally mobile and lived the lives of Semi-Nomadic people.
