ABOUT THE BOOK

The book “Pivotal Issues in Indian Education” is primarily an anthology of chapters dealing with contemporary issues in the landscape of Indian Education. It records 21 chapters focusing inclusive education, peace education, value education, women empowerment, RUSA, SSA, UEE, education for national integration and international understanding, education in the context of globalization and privatization, education for the Tribal, examination reforms, education for social change and democracy, ESD etc.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Ajit Mondal (Ed.) is a scholarly teacher in the field of education. He has presently been teaching in the capacity of Assistant Professor, Surendranath College for Women (affiliated to the University of Calcutta), Kolkata, West Bengal. He did Master Degree both in English and Education from the University of Kalyani, West Bengal. He also obtained B. Ed. and Ph. D in Education from the same university. Besides teaching, he has already written more than 25 articles in reputed educational journals and presented a good number of research papers in national and international seminars and symposium. He also authored three books on the Right to Education and Educational Programmes in India and edited six books on the subjects of teacher education, right to education & women empowerment and value education. He has already remarkably contributed articles to the Kurukshetra – A Journal on Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development, GOI, Yojana – A Monthly Development, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, GOI, The Primary Teacher Journal (NCERT, New Delhi), Bangladesh Education Journal (BAFED in collaboration with Bangladesh UNESCO & Action Aid), and University News – A Weekly Journal of Higher Education, Association of Indian Universities (AIU). He has also been working as Editor of the two Peer Reviewed Research Journals - Edulight Journal and Contemporary Research Spectrum Journal.
