This book is first of it's kind in adding the knowledge to the social work education. Especially to the community development workers and NGO's .It focused on the contributions of Non -Governmental organizations(NGO'S) towards social development .The book has covered the profile, policies and programmes of Non-Governmental organizations(NGO's) .It emphasized on the activities of NGOs and their contributions for Development in various aspects . The book highlights on the socio-economic profile of the beneficiaries and their opinion on the self development in various aspects like social, economic, political, cultural and religious. The contribution of NGO's is very important in promoting the Nation towards development. Without NGO's involvement in development, the Government is unable to handle the developmental programmes for the welfare of the people. This book helps like a guide to all the development workers, social work trainees to gain better knowledge on the programmes of NGO's for development. The readers will find it useful and fruitful in Providing qualitative services in their future developmental programmes and promotes better understanding and wider knowledge on field work programme in social work education.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. karanam Viswa Bhushan, Associate professor of social work who has been working in Maharaja's Post graduate college(awarded 'A' Grade by NACC) since two decades ( affliated to Andhra university) vizianagaram Andhra Pradeh. India. He secured his Bachelor's , Master's (Post Graduation) and Doctoral degrees in social work from Andhra University and awarded first rank with gold medal at post graduation studies. His area of specialization is community development . He secured International certificate in community development and Adult education at Nijmegen university, Netherlands. He has attended several National and International (Belgium, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, Thailand ,Malaysia and Canada) seminars, conferences and workshops. Enriched with the knowledge of social work education. He has delivered guest lecture in several universities in Canada , Belgum and Germany . His focussed areas are capacity development, empowering women groups(SHG'S, DWACRA'S), youth development , working in urban slums, rural and tribal areas. Awareness building on social issues, training programmes to personnel of the Non Governmental organizations(NGO'S ),consultant services to Local , National and International organizations . He has good network with the NGO'S and promoted several programmes for the development. Life member in several National associations of social work education.
