ABOUT THE BOOK

Adequate inf rastructural facilities and high human development are the preconditions of economic growth of an economy. Gujarat is a fast growing state with high economic growth but comparatively low human development. Though , Gujarat's economy has shown a consistently increasing rate of economic growth, yet the state was unable to imp rove its rank in HOI. It is in this background that the present study has been set to analyze the level of infrastructure and human development in the state as well as with respect to its districts and to establish relationship between infrastructure, economic growth and human development. The book should prove useful to planners, economists, researchers, students those interested in the further development of the state Gujarat.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. (M s.) Gargi Ghosh is a Ph.D (Economics) from Punjab University, Chandigarh . She was a senior research fellow of this university. She is a winner of University Grants Commission (UGC) fellowship. Having rich experience in academic and research, she is well known in academic circles, having several publications in the fie ld of deve lopment economics in many reputed journals.
